Seacoast Christian Golf Club Outing
Encinitas Ranch GC, April 2 , 2010
We had 26 players in our field today, the fourth event of our Seacoast Cup Golf Season. The course was in a very nice shape. The recent rains have helped immensely to green things up, and so we were able to enjoy lush fairways and soft greens. The putting surfaces were faster than usual but mostly true. At our last event at The Crossings, there were many complaints of “3 putting,” but today, the complaints were considerably down in the clubhouse after our round and the lower scores today reflect that many of us came out today with our “A”… or at least “B” game. Overall, the sunny and brisk cool day provided a great time to enjoy the company of great friendships on the links.
Congratulations to Denny Sbarbaro who once again played steady and posted the low gross score 76 today, followed closely by Andy Trees who posted a 78. Ross Mitchell was another player today who brought his “A” game and took Low Net honors by posting a 67. Way to go Ross !!
We had 7 teams competing in our Team Waltz competition. In the end, Team 1 and Team 3 both ended up in a tie with the lowest Net Strokes of 122. Each player on these teams will earn 50 points towards their points totals. Congratrats to : Bret Herman, Dan Anderson, Nick Anderson, Michael Gibbs, Jim Freitas, and Geoff Baynes, for playing great team ball and collectively shooting low scores. (Results are posted below)
Posting Scores – many of you are posting your adjusted gross scores at the course. As an added benefit to our club, Seacoast Christian Golf Club, we all can also post scores from our own computer the new SCGA/GHIN system. Visit www.SCGA.org or www.GHIN.com and follow the links to posting scores. Remember, to maintain your index current and to insure your index is a reflection of your “true” golf ability, post ALL your golf scores. New GHIN Index System – many of you posted your scores on Friday with the new GHIN Computer system which the SCGA has implemented at the beginning of this year. With this all SCGA member numbers were assigned a 7 digit member number. For the majority of our club, this meant a “9” was added to the beginning of your exisiting membership number. A few players were assigned an entirely new number. If you have any problems regarding your member number let me know. You can post and view your stats at : SCGA.org or visit GHIN.com. Our club allows players to post their scores online if you we not able to post your scores at the course.

4 Man Team Waltz - This is a 4 man team, each team will take the best score (less handicap) on the 1st hole, the best two scores (less handicap) on the 2nd hole and the three best scores (less handicap) on the 3rd hole, start the rotation again on the 4th hole!
