This month we ended up having 2
rounds of golf to get in our field of players.
As you all can remember on the February 6 outing, the weather in North Country was windy and wet.
Those of us who did decide to brave the
elements that morning were pleasantly surprised as the weather somehow
became very kind to us and allowed us to put in a full eighteen.
Bob Newby came prepared and had all his new rain gear in place,
but the rain never became a factor and we all stayed dry.
Since there were only 7 of us who braved the
elements, the event committee obtained more tee times for the following week
and 7 more players came out to make up their
February round.
The tournament committee also decided to split the
two rounds and not combine the scores for both dates as conditions would not
be equal.
Therefore those who showed have more potential
to gain points and score well with the smaller field of players.
Below are the results.
A big congratulations goes to Bob Newby who
played well on the potentially wet and rainy day, (Feb 6) and posted his all
time best round to win both low gross and net honors.
The following week, Jim Hopson showed off his
scoring ability (Feb 13) and took both low gross and low net honors.
Also a note to mention: Darryn Prince, who
didn't play last month, took
advantage of the smaller field of players and won 4 skins.
For those of you who might be concerned that
Bob Newby played in both rounds, his participation in the 2nd
round on February 13 was purely for his golfing enjoyment, and his scoring
for that day did not count
towards any points in our Seacoast Points
Scoring System.
Since we had inclement conditions and there was concern
whether the rounds would be complete on February 6, the tournament committee
decided that only the following categories for scoring points for this month
would be in force:
- Low Gross Scoring
- Low Net Scoring
- Net Skins
- Best Front / Best Back 9 holes

Quest for the 2009 Seacoast Cup
- This year will be been full of fun times on the golf course.
We have added a new dimension to our club’s monthly event play by having
Match Play events beginning September 2009. Twelve players will
earn their way to this year’s match play event. Points are earned by
finishing well in both individual low gross and low net score postings.
Also points are earned in different team and individual events ranging
from match play, 4 man team best ball, and 2 man best ball events. Net
Skins are also another category that allows players to add points to
their monthly points. View Match

Remember only those
players who have an Official SCGA or USGA golf index qualify for
low net play and compete in Seacoast Christian Golf Club Points
System. Players who participate in our events who do not have an
official golf index / handicap, may be assigned a course handicap and
may participate and qualify for team net play points . For information

- On our Leaderboard, Jim Hopson has
taken the lead for the top position,
followed closely by Darren Maglidt who is in second place. The season
is early and there are many more events to come to start adding to your
points total.
