We started our golf season with a
Pancake breakfast at Seacoast Community Church. Those who made it for
the early morning 6:00a meal sure found themselves filled up and ready
to burn some calories on the golf course. The weather was cool and
brisk, but clear. Bob Newby our 2007 Club Champion looked fresh and was
ready to begin defend his title. Others in the field discussed their
plans to make it into the final 8 by September to make a run at the 2008
Seacoast Cup. There’s plenty of golf left for the rest of the year so
come on out and join in on the fun.
Congratulations to Kent
Coykendall for shooting the low gross round of 79. Let Net honors
go to Bill Bracket who played a steady game and posted a low net
65.
Quest
for the 2008 Seacoast Cup - This year will be
full of fun times on the golf course. We have added a new
dimension to our club’s monthly event play by having Match Play
events beginning September 2008. We will be taking the top 8 spots
on our Seacoast points leader board and set up match play until we have
a final winner to be declared our club champion. So in order to
make it to the top positions, come out and participate and play.
Points may be earned in the following categories: both gross
and net stroke play, team
stroke play, and also in net skins.
Remember only those
players who have an official SCGA or USGA golf index qualify for
low net play and compete in Seacoast Christian Golf Club Points System.
Players who participate in our events who do not have an official golf
index / handicap, may be assigned a course handicap and may participate
and qualify for team net play or for net skin play. For
information on how to obtain an official golf index contact Curtis Chan
