Encinitas Ranch GC
Friday July 11, 2008
Sorry for the delay in getting the
results and stats posted for our last round last week. Summer
means more time with family and time away from the computer and
golf course. This weekend I’m off to family camp at
Forest Home for one week. Here are the results !!
Our last round at Encinitas Ranch GC
brought in some new faces. Welcome to our group: Jim Hopson
and Tony Korbar. Also welcome back to David
Abella who we haven’t seen all year.
Our early morning golfers went off
at the crack of dawn and Jim Hopson posted the low gross
score of 79. Low net score honors go to our very own Darryn
Prince who is steadily posting scores in the 90’s. Darryn
posted a low net 64.
Singles Match Play -The cards
were all turned in and the tournament committee created a
singles match play competition based on each player’s course
handicap seeding lowest handicap vs. highest handicap players.
The odd man (middled seeded player) turned out to be Curtis
Chan, who was matched against a blind draw of those who lost
their matches in the card off. Below all the matches are posted
and winners each added 50 points to their monthly totals.
On our Leader Board, Curtis Chan
has taken over the lead spot. Darryn Prince also added
enough points to also peak Kent Coykendall who has not played
in the last few events. Kent still remains in the top 4 with
Dan Anderson. Remember, beginning September 16, our match play
events begin. After our next event, August 8, the top 12
players will be in contention for the Seacoast Cup 2008.
Details regarding end of year
Match Play: After the August 8 event, the top 4 players
will be given a first round bye. On September 16, players in
position 5-12 will be matched up for the “Wild Card Match
Play.” On September 26 the winners of the Wild Card Match Play
will then be matched in seeded fashion against the top 4 players
(1-4) to make the “Quarter Finals Match Play.” Then on October
17 the winners of the Quarter Finals Match will again square off
in the Semi Finals Match Play. The winners of these matches
will then create our final 2 players who will then meet on
November 7 for our Championship Match.
Quest for the 2008 Seacoast Cup
- This year will be full of fun times on the golf course. We
have added a new dimension to our club’s monthly event play by
having Match Play events beginning September 2008. We
will be taking the top 12 spots on our Seacoast points leader
board and set up match play until we have a final winner to be
declared our club champion. So in order to make it to the top
positions, come out, participate, and play. Points may
be earned in the following categories: both gross and
net stroke play, team stroke play, and also in net
skins.
Remember
only those players who have an official SCGA or USGA golf
index qualify for low net play and compete in Seacoast Christian
Golf Club Points System. Players who participate in our events
who do not have an official golf index / handicap, may be
assigned a course handicap and may participate and qualify for
team net play or for net skin play. For information on how to
obtain an official golf index contact Curtis Chan and visit :
