News and Results of our Golf Club

Seacoast Christian

Golf Club an affiliate club of the Southern California Golf Association

For those who came for golf, we had a bit of everything.  We had new golfers, young golfers, experienced golfers, and we even had some rain.  Some of us played exceptionally well, and some of us just couldn’ t  wait to finish the round. But in the end, the sun was shining, and we all had a fun time. Congratulations to Bob Newby who shot a low gross 84, and a low net 64.  Welcome to new golfer Victor Mena !  Keep practicing Victor, and eventually you’ll be playing like Bob.  Also welcome back to our group long time golfers Bill Buchanan and his father-in-law Don McCullum as well as Bill’s son Brett.  In addition to this, we welcome our teenage junior golfers: Michael Newby, Ryan Pavin, and Brett Buchanan.   Ryan Pavin almost out scored Bob Newby and shot smooth 85.

In the points standings for our club, Tom Robinson is still in the lead, being chased by Bob Newby and Curtis Chan. Remember, to be in the points system you need to have an official SCGA member number and  official index / handicap rating.  For info on how to obtain an SCGA membership through our club contact Curtis Chan.

Points System for 2004
For those who have an SCGA membership through Seacoast Christian Golf Club, we will be implementing a point system to add a competitive edge to our club.  Each event will offer points depending on how you finish amongst the field of players.  Final Scoring will be indexed and calculated according to each member’s monthly index.  We will keep a running total throughout the year for those who want to compete and we'll think of prizes for the winners at the end.   Standings will be posted each month.  If you have any questions contact Bob Newby (bnewby@seacoast-church.org) or Curtis Chan (CurtisChanDDS@aol.com).
