Encinitas Ranch GC
Friday May 23,
2008
We had a fun day of golf
last Friday as our monthly golf tour played at Encinitas Ranch
Golf Club. There were 20 players in the field, all who came
prepared to play, even though we had the threat of rain. The
rain did hold off until about 10:30a when the wind and wet took
over. It’s a good thing it was only temporary. Those of us who
had our “golf wet gear” sure got to benefit in staying warm and
dry.
Welcome to our group
Charlie Keiper, Jim Freitas, and Chris Szot, who came out and joined in
on the golf for their first time with our group this year.
Also welcome back to Craig Johnson who finally dusted off
his clubs and decided to put in a round of golf and rack up some
points.
Congratulations to our
low gross winner Andy Burich, who posted a 76. Andy
has a smooth swing and he really knows how to manage his game.
He showed up 10 minutes before his tee time, no warming up
required at the range. He rolled a few putts on the putting
practice green with coffee in hand, and off to the first tee he
went.
Our low net winner
goes to Darryn Prince. Darryn, has been seriously
working on his game these past few months. He recently took up
golf last year and today he hit a milestone in golf. He
broke 100 for the very first time and posted a net 62.
This earned him a first place finish in the Low Net Score
categroy. Darryn is hoping to make it into the playoffs
this year. Way to Go Darryn!!
In Team play competition
- Team 3 ( Gibbs, Freitas, Bracket, Prince) came in first place
by shooting a Team Low Net Best Ball score of 50. Each team
member earned 50 points for their efforts. Congratulations team
3!
Quest for
the 2008 Seacoast Cup - This year will
be full of fun times on the golf course. We have added a
new dimension to our club’s monthly event play by having
Match Play events beginning September 2008. We will be
taking the top 12 spots on our Seacoast points leader board and
set up match play until we have a final winner to be declared
our club champion. So in order to make it to the top
positions, come out, participate, and play. Points may
be earned in the following categories: both gross and
net stroke play, team stroke play, and also in net
skins.
Remember
only those players who have an official SCGA or USGA golf
index qualify for low net play and compete in Seacoast Christian
Golf Club Points System. Players who participate in
our events who do not have an official golf index / handicap,
may be assigned a course handicap and may participate and
qualify for team net play or for net skin play. For
