We had a full field of players for our event last Friday.  Several players have returned from last season. …welcome back to our Friday Golf to:  Kent Coykendall, David Abella. Welcome to newcomers Bill Borgstadt, and Phil Weatherly.  We had beautiful weather for golf.  The greens were in great condition, and several players enjoyed low scoring rounds. There were also 9 players who earned a net skin.   Big congratulations to our points leader Mike Nelson, who once again showed why, is at the top of the leader board.  Mike shot a low gross 74.  Low net honors go to John Jensen who scored a low net 62. John has tightened up his game and his course management is lowering his monthly index each month.

Special Note:  Hole #15 proved to be quite the target for today’s field of players.  Five players took their turn at being closest to the pin.  By the time group 5 came to the hole, Bill Brackett (group 4) had earned the honor of being closest to the pin with his amazing shot that ended up just 10 inches from the hole.   The pin placement maker appeared to be in the hole when viewed from the tee box 145 yards from the hole.  Unfortunately for Bill, his shot was bettered by Curtis Chan’s shot that almost rolled into the cup and stopped 2 inches from the hole.

Quest for the 2009 Seacoast Cup - This year will be been full of fun times on the golf course.  We have added a new dimension to our club’s monthly event play by having Match Play events beginning September 2009.  Twelve players will earn their way to this year’s match play event.  Points are earned by finishing well in both individual low gross and low net score postings.  Also points are earned in different team and individual events ranging from match play, 4 man team best ball, and 2 man best ball events.  Net Skins are also another category that allows players to add points to their monthly points.

Remember only those players who have an official SCGA or USGA golf index qualify for low net play and compete in Seacoast Christian Golf Club Points System.   Players who participate in our events who do not have an official golf index / handicap, may be assigned a course handicap and may participate and qualify for team net play points .  For information on how to obtain an official golf index contact Curtis Chan and visit
