Seacoast Christian Golf Club Outing
The Rancho Bernardo Inn Resort , May 7 , 2010 We had 24 players in our field today, the fifth event of our Seacoast Cup Golf Season. The Rancho Bernardo Inn Resort course was in great condition and the beautiful warm sunshine only added to a great day of golf. The course officials apologized deeply to our group for not having the practice range available, but our “Govenator” Arnold Schwarzenegger was making a late morning visit to the RB Inn Resort and the driving range was being used as a parking lot. Welcome to our group newcomer, Todd Marion. Todd recently dusted off his clubs he brought from Michigan and realized that San Diego has a bountiful supply of golf courses. When he found out that there was a Seacoast group playing each month on Fridays, he said….”I’m in….” Congratulations to Mike Nelson who showed up for his 2nd event this season and displayed his golf talents by posting the low gross score 77 today . Low Net scoring honors goes to Kent Coykendall who brought his “A” a game today and posted a steady net 71. Kent was closely followed by Bill Brackett (73) who almost broke 90 today. The competition today was tight as each putt made a big difference in the standings. Below are the results and points standings. Several players have made their move into the top 12, as our season draws nearer to our playoffs in September. There were a bunch of “Net Skins” won today and a couple of players capitalized with multiple wins. Special note – Justin Frisco took 3 skins, and Geoff Baynes went on a “Skin” rage as he racked up 3 in a roll on holes 15-17. We had 6 teams competing in our Team Waltz competition In the end, Team 3 edged out teams 4 and 5 by a few strokes to win. Each player on team 3 will earn 50 points towards their points totals. Contratulaions to : Jon Olson, Andy Trees, Curtis Chan, and Todd Marion, for playing great team ball and collectively shooting low scores in Waltz completion. Posting Scores – many of you are posting your adjusted gross scores at the course. As an added benefit to our club, Seacoast Christian Golf Club, we all can also post scores from our own computer the new SCGA/GHIN system. Visit www.SCGA.org or www.GHIN.com and follow the links to posting scores. Remember, to maintain your index current and to insure your index is a reflection of your “true” golf ability, post ALL your golf scores. If you have any questions regarding posting please contact Curtis Chan or refer to the SCGA website. New GHIN Index System – many of you posted your scores on Friday with the new GHIN Computer system which the SCGA has implemented at the beginning of this year. With this all SCGA member numbers were assigned a 7 digit member number. For the majority of our club, this meant a “9” was added to the beginning of your exisiting membership number. A few players were assigned an entirely new number. If you have any problems regarding your member number let me know. You can post and view your stats at : SCGA.org or visit GHIN.com. Our club allows players to post their scores online if you we not able to post your scores at the course.
