San Diego Dental Golf Group

October 27, 2006, Mount Woodson Golf Club, Ramona, CA

We had great weather as we took on the course at Mt. Woodson.  There were only 4 of us but we quickly learned that this course is totally a course management  challenge.  The  20 – 30 mph winds kicked up shortly after we completed the 2nd hole and from there we all experienced our frustrations and successes.  Congratulations go to Hank Tear for hanging in there and posting a low gross 87 and low net 76.

Our next outing will be November 18.  Please note that our December event has been changed to Friday, December 22.  For a view of all our events you can visit this link at EVENTS Calender.

On our Points Leader Board, Doug Cassat still leads the field, but Hank Tear is making a run for the top spot with 2 more events to play.

Keeping Your Index True - Some of you are not posting your rounds, and it is important that you utilize the “online posting” that SCGA offers us.  If you have not posted rounds which you have played these past months just go to scga.org and get set up and post!!  The handicap chairman has the ability as well as all the scga members to view your monthly scores…so lets’ all be diligent to keep our monthly indices legitimate. 

2007 SCGA Renewals - Chuck White is gathering together his files to get all of us renewed with our 2007 SCGA membership.  Please get your check books out and send him your dues for 2007.   He’s got a November 30th deadline to finalize next year’s membership. If he doesn't hear from you by then, then you will be deleted from the 2007 SDDGG / SCGA membership.   A big thanks to Chuck for keeping track of our SCGA membership and indexing for the year!!!!  If you want to verify that your index is with our club, San Diego Dental Golf Group, then click on the following link - SDDGG Members.  If you want to join our club affiliate, then contact Curtis Chan or Chuck White for more details.

Points System for 2006

For those who have an SCGA membership through San Diego Dental Golf Club, we will be implementing a point system to add a competitive edge to our club.  Each event will offer points depending on how you finish amongst the field of players.  Events will be indexed and low net scores will be calculated according to each member’s monthly index.  Players will earn points in two categories:   low gross and low net. Overall total points will be calculated after each event.  We will keep a running total throughout the year for those who want to compete and we'll think of prizes for the winners at the end.   Standings will be posted each month.  If you have any questions contact  Curtis Chan (CurtisChanDDS@aol.com).
