Seacoast Christian

Golf Club an affiliate club of the Southern California Golf Association

Friday, September 16,  2005   Encinitas Ranch Golf Club

We had just enough players this month to fill in one group.  Those that played sure enjoyed a fun time on the golf course.  Congratulations to Al Asakura who rattled in an eagle shot from 60 yards out on hole number 9 which helped in take honors for low gross (83).   Tom Robinson came through with low net honors by posting a 71.  This now takes Tom to the top of the leader board, with Bob Newby right behind chasing on his coat tails.

In this year’s playing format, points will be given for both low gross and low net categories.  Points will be earned according how each player finishes in the field and also how you placed as a team if a team competition was played.  Only ties between first place finishers will be decided by going to the score cards.   Individual net play stroke will be given to players with an official verifiable golf index.  A course handicap may be assigned to a player who does not have an official handicap by our club’s handicap chairperson for team net play purposes.  If you have any questions about our golf group or you desire to get an official SCGA golf membership contact Curtis Chan or Bob Newby.

Next month we will be playing on Friday, October 14, 2005.

Points System for 2005

For those who have an SCGA membership through Seascoast Christian Golf Club, we will be implementing a point system to add a competitive edge to our club.  Each event will offer points depending on how you finish amongst the field of players.  Events will be indexed and low net scores will be calculated according to each member’s monthly index.  Players will earn points in two categories:   low gross and low net. Overall total points will be calculated after each event.  We will keep a running total throughout the year for those who want to compete and we'll think of prizes for the winners at the end.   Standings will be posted each month.  If you have any questions contact Bob Newby (bnewby@seacoast-church.org) or Curtis Chan (CurtisChanDDS@aol.com).
