Encinitas Ranch Golf Club, Encinitas CA 

We had a wonderful day of golf last Friday at Encinitas Ranch.  Welcome back to our group Kent Coykendal, whom we haven’t seen for a long time.   

Andy Burich again showed us how to keep things under control by posting a low gross score of 76.  The inside scoop on this round was that he was using this outing as a warm up round for his scheduled afternoon  golf round at Encinitas Ranch.  So he ended up shooting a cool 78 from the Blues in the afternoon while battling the wind.  Way to go Andy!!!   

For Low Net honors, Curtis Chan posted a low net 65 edging Bob Newby by just one stroke.   

In our Net Skins game we had 2 winners.  This game is scored by determining which players in the field scored the single best net score for each hole.  If there is a tie, then there is no “Skins” earned. 

Hole #4 (handicap #1)  Bob Newby – he parred this hole for a net eagle

Hole #18 (handipcap #8) Curtis Chan – he birdied this hole for a net eagle

Our next outing has been scheduled for Friday Oct 6 (Note:  this is a change from Oct 13.)  Due to courses beginning to perform their seasonal overseeding we will check to see which course we will play.

Next Golf Outing: Friday –  October 6  2006

Points System for 2006

For those who have an SCGA membership through Seascoast Christian Golf Club, we will be implementing a point system to add a competitive edge to our club.  Each event will offer points depending on how you finish amongst the field of players.  Events will be indexed and low net scores will be calculated according to each member’s monthly index.  Players will earn points in two categories:   low gross and low net. Overall total points will be calculated after each event.  We will keep a running total throughout the year for those who want to compete and we'll think of prizes for the winners at the end.   Standings will be posted each month.  If you have any questions contact Bob Newby (bnewby@seacoast-church.org) or Curtis Chan (CurtisChanDDS@aol.com).
